Session Description
AI has emerged as one of the most important technological advances since the dawn of the PC Era 50 years ago. While business of all shapes and sizes have been leveraging Artificial Intelligence for years, the launch of Open AI’s Chat GPT in late 2022 brought a newfound awareness to AI’s potential, making AI tools accessible in a way that almost anyone could consume, and expand upon. Tech behemoths and start-ups, alike, rushed to roll out competing solutions and drive the development of large language models (LLMs) and specialized AI silicon solutions in order to avoid being left behind in the Generative AI landgrab. Businesses across all sectors have been the beneficiary as their suppliers scramble to help them put AI – generative AI alongside core AI - to use in improving their operations, P&L and how they engage with customers.
Now, more than ever, it’s clear that the AI transformation will be felt across the economy, and the telecoms industry is no different.
The Telco AI summit will give a fuller view of where – and, most importantly, how - AI and GenAI are being used by telcoms operators, how this is likely to change over time, and the implications for performance, customer relations and competition. The focus will broadly cover four areas:
- Innovation. The innovation in Core AI and GenAI taking place and what this means for how operators do business, and how they enable their customers’ success.
- Use cases vs. RoI. Early implementations in the network and customer engagement, as well as emerging applicability in services and corporate functions. Crucial to the discussion is how operators think about RoI in each case, and selecting the right AI applications along with key partnerships.
- Sustainability. The AI impact on energy usage and how it can prove a beneficial force for energy efficiency as the sector pushes towards Net Zero.
- Security. The role of AI (and GenAI) in improving network security, while also driving new security threats. In the 5G Era, security remains the #1 priority for 87% of CTOs in their network upgrades. As threat landscapes continue to expand, and mobile networks are designated strategically important national infrastrcture, the intersection of AI and security cannot be ignored.
