Speaker Bio

Daphanie Nisbeth is an Applied Research Mathematician at the National Security Agency’s Center for Cybersecurity Standards. She earned a B.S. degree in Mathematics at Oakwood University before beginning a career as a high school math teacher. Over the next several years, she would follow up with a M.S. degree in Teaching at National-Louis University and a M.S. degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics from Bowie State University. After a thrilling 4-year stint as a stay-at-home mom, she made the switch from convincing others that math is awesome to enjoying the awesomeness of math as her everyday job at the NSA. She is currently a leader on the 5G and Secure Protocols teams, where she works to ensure USG cybersecurity requirements are included in standards for a more secure future.
