Speaker Bio

Laurent Therivel (“LT”) is the president and chief executive officer of UScellular, the fourth largest wireless provider in the U.S. LT is focused on growing UScellular’s business and positioning the company for future success and is highly committed to UScellular’s mission of connecting people to what matters most.


LT joined UScellular as president and CEO in July 2020, bringing 15+ years of experience in the wireless industry, including more than 10 years at AT&T, where he held roles as chief financial officer of AT&T Business Solutions, senior vice president of AT&T Small Business Solutions, and his most recent position as CEO of AT&T Mexico.


Prior to his career at AT&T, LT was chief operating officer at IPcelerate, Inc., and he spent time early in his career at Bain & Company, leading several high impact assignments related to operational redesign and cost structure. He also completed four and a half years with the U.S. Marine Corps, earning the rank of Captain and serving as a telecommunications operations officer in San Diego, Calif., and a communications officer in Southeast Asia.


LT earned bachelor’s degrees in business administration and marketing from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and a master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School in Boston, Mass. LT is currently a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and the Executives’ Club of Chicago. He serves on the board of directors of UScellular and is a board member for CTIA as well as being a member of their nominating committee. He was previously on the board of directors for Telephone and Data Systems (TDS), Sky Mexico and The Game Show Network and was a board member and interim COO of the Prison Entrepreneurship Program.
