Speaker Bio

Hank’s responsibilities include all of AT&T’s wireless and spectrum related-matters before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).


Instrumental in development and promotion of AT&T’s positions on auctions. Significant experience in the process of obtaining FCC approval for a variety of transactions and license transfers. Significant experience in proceedings involving reform of intercarrier compensation and universal service. Extensive experience in the FCC’s unending net neutrality proceedings.


Previously served as AT&T’s representative on the North American Numbering Council, a Federal Advisory Committee that advises the FCC on telephone numbering issues. From 2007-2011, Member of the Board of Directors for the Wireless Communications Association International. Member of the Board of Directors for the National Exchange Carrier Association.


From 1996-2004, Director Law and Public Policy for MCI. Worked on most of the major proceedings to implement the Telecommunications Act of 1996, including implementation of the provisions related to network unbundling, universal service, local number portability, and Bell Operating Company entry into long distance services.


 


Graduate of the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, concentration in Economics. Graduate of the George Mason University School of Law.


 


Married with two children. Resident of Arlington, Virginia. Avid skier, golfer, coach and fan of youth sports. Other interests include cooking and reading.
