Ray Octaviano is the Vice President and Head of Business Development, North America for IDEMIA Secure Transactions. He has been on the device side of the Telecommunications industry for over twenty years with the last ten years focused on security and secure authentication in the SIM card industry. Ray focuses on helping customers understand the opportunities and challenges new technologies bring to their business. These technologies include the evolution from traditional SIM cards to eSIM with a current focus on the upcoming launch of the GSMA’s SGP.32 Consumer IoT eSIM specifications. These specifications will allow Machine to Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) devices leverage the eSIM infrastructure that is already in place for consumer devices such as smartphones and smart watches. Ray helps mobile network operators and device makers prepare to capitalize on this new technology that will open eSIM to many new M2M and IoT segments where eSIM has not been practical to date.
