Speaker Bio

Slayton Stewart is an accomplished C-Level executive with over 25 years in the wireless and broadband telecommunications industry with an exceptional record of transforming organizations and building highly competitive, profitable and sustainable B2B, B2C, and subscription-based businesses.  


For 19 years, Stewart has served as CEO at Carolina West Wireless, a privately held wireless and high-speed data service provider in Western North Carolina. With his commitment to hiring, developing and motivating employees, Carolina West was named a Great Place to Work-Certifiedtm company under his leadership.


Stewart also serves as Chairman of the Board for CTIA, advocating for legislative and regulatory policies at federal, state, and local levels that foster the continued innovation, investment, and increasing economic impact of America's wireless industry.


Since 2008, Stewart has been chosen for leadership roles in the Competitive Carriers Association (CCA), including serving on various finance and executive committees and as Chairman, leading the search committee for the CEO.  At CTIA and CCA, he works to represent the wireless industry to federal agencies such as the NTIA, FCC, and Congress on regulatory and legislative issues.


Stewart received a BBA in finance, a BS in accounting from the University of Kentucky, and his MBA from Wake Forest University. He has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant for 26 years.  He is a member of The American Institute of CPAs and the Kentucky Society of CPAs.
